EMT Refresher

4 day course: September 27th, 28th and October 4th, 5yj 2024. Course meets Fridays and Saturdays for two weeks from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Prerequisite is one of the following:
- Current EMT certification (Arizona or National Registry of EMTs) OR
- Expired certification with permission of EMS Program Coordinator (David Manning 928-526-7680).
AHA BLS Provider CPR refresher can be included but separate registration and online work will be required. Contact Dave Manning
Landscape Drawing

In this course participants will learn basic and intermediate techniques for landscape drawing in the beautiful landscapes around Flagstaff. On Day 1 we’ll begin this course in the classroom at CCC’s Lone Tree Campus. The group will then discuss field trip details for Days 2 and 3. This course is suitable for all skill levels, and the group size is capped at 12 for an intimate opportunity to learn from a professional artist. A list of course supplies will be provided.
The class will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Instructor Alan Petersen recently retired from a faculty position at Coconino Community College where he taught art history, drawing, painting, and courses pertaining to the Colorado Plateau for thirty years. Alan started his career working on the South Rim of Grand Canyon before moving to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University in 1980 where he earned degrees in painting and art history.
Alan currently serves as the Curator of Fine Arts at the Museum of Northern Arizona where he has curated exhibitions of work by such notable artists as Gunnar Widforss, Joella Jean Mahoney, Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton, Merrill Mahaffey, Bruce Aiken, Ed Mell, Curt Walters, Shonto Begay, and Baje Whitethorne, among many others.
Community Star Party

Bring your family and experience the wonder of the night sky at Coconino Community College's Lone Tree campus. Astronomer Chad Davies will be on hand to guide you through viewing planets, star clusters, galaxies, and other deep-sky objects with telescopes. For those who'd like to learn how to navigate the night sky, there will be a session to show you what to look for.
This event is part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science "Science Night Explortion" at CCC.
Dr. Chad Davies is a science educator with over 25 years of experience teaching physics and astronomy. He's served as an observatory director and is presently a member of the faculty at Coconino Community College. Over the years, he's facilitated over 100 star parties for students and members of the public community.
- Registration is not required. If you register we can send you a reminder and any event updates.
- This is a weather dependent, outdoor event; no seating is provided.
EMT Recertification Challenge Exam

The EMT Recertification Challenge EXam is only applicable to current Arizona Certified EMTs.
This class consists of a 150 question cognitive exam and NREMT psychomotor exam.
This written exam DOES NOT satisfy NREMT recertification requirements however the practical skills exam will be applicable.

For NREMT required CE the four day EMT Refresher would the more appropriate course.
Paramedic Refresher

6 day course: October 18th, 19th, 25rd, 26th and November 1st, 2nd 2024. Course meets Fridays and Saturdays for three weeks from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Day 2 – Saturday, 10/19/2024 0830-1730
- PEDS – PALS Skills, Peds medical, Peds cardiac
Week 2
Day 3 – Friday, 10/25/2024 0830-1730
- Airway – RSI, Direct/video, Cric, CPAP/BPAP, Ventilator, ABG values.
Day 4 – Saturday, 10/26/2024 0830-1730
- Trauma – PHTLS, TECC
Week 3
Day 5 – 11/1/2024 Friday, 0830-1730
- OB & Neonate. Special considerations, Pharmacology
Day 6 – Saturday, 11/2/2024 0830-1730
- Putting it all together, EMS Wellbeing, EMS Research, Practical & written exams
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider (In-Person) - Flagstaff

- This class is intended for medical providers and those applying for programs in the medical field (i.e. EMT, CNA, MA, Physicians, RN, Dentists, etc.)
- Note: course will fulfill the enrollment pre-requisite for EMS 131, Emergency Medical Technician and NUR 110, Nursing Assistant I
- This is a medical course for CPR & AED for infant, child, & adult only. No First Aid.
- This course will be completed in person at the CCC Fourth Street Campus.
- The course is approximately 5 hours.
- Additional online work may be required.
- Health and Safety:
- Masks are encouraged.
- Personal air valves will be provided.
